I enjoy reading the book of Proverbs
i usually read it based on the date of the month
since today is 30th hence Proverbs chapter 30
there is a verse i like best in the chapter
and i have it as my life verse

“Keep falsehood and lies far from me
give me neither poverty nor riches
but give me only my daily bread.”

since childhood i was never contented with life
i always compared and it just so stressed me out
when i become Christian I learned about contentment
specifically the secret of being content

years ago i had to make a major decision and i was lacking fund
while reading the bible this verse came to life
Hebrews 13:5…
Keep your lives free from the love of money
and be content with what you have,
because God has said,
   “Never will I leave you;
   never will I forsake you.”

as i reflected on my life these days
i surely see how the Lord has allowed me
to exprience immeasurable abundant life
and thus i was totally able to echo with what Apostle Paul expressed in
Phillipians 4
” I know what it is to be in need,
and I know what it is to have plenty.
I have learned the secret of being content
in any and every situation,
whether well fed or hungry,
whether living in plenty or in want. “

yet exercising being in contentment isn’t easy
it takes discipline and gratefulness
recently i was struggling with comparison again
and the word i received from the Lord was
“Compare not, for I have BLESSED you with MY HEART”
and i was like WoW… what a Word-of-Wisdom!

The Lord is My Shepherd

Happy “Mother’s” Day to all my wonderful married and unmarried women out there; here’s a bike-ful of flowers to garland your soul

on this joyous day and the rest may you enjoy the motherly and shepherding love of our Heavenly Father, the Shepherd of shepherds!

Isaiah 49:15 ~~ God as a nursing mother
“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne?
Though she may forget, I will not forget you!”

 Isaiah 66:13 ~~ God as a comforting mother
“As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you…”
Whenever i see mom/dad care or discipline their children
i see a nurturing picture of a good shepherd guiding his sheep
in good times and in bad times

Oftentimes people assume the “pasture” as describes on Psalm 23 is “forever green” but in ancient Israel much of the lands were arid with dry patched land

only when there is a heavy rainstorm would there be water gathered and grass sprouted; in order for the sheep to drink beside still water and to graze on green pasture, they need to wait on the good shepherd to lead them to the oasis

The Lord is my Shepherd
~~ His Perfect Parenting

I shall not be in want
~~ His Provision

He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters
~~His Peace

He restores my soul
~~ His Pardon

He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake
~~ His Purity

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I will fear no evil for You are with me
~~ His Presence

Your rod and Your staff they comfort me
~~ His Protection

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies
~~ His Pampering

You anoint my head with oil and my cup overflows
~~ His Pouring

Surely Your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life
~~ His Providence

and I will dwell in the House of the LORD forever
~~ His Palace
