During the past few days, I had so much fun biking with my “Giant” bike to enjoy the beautiful blooming cheery blossom around town.
But today I am so so sad because my precious “Giant” went missing; and I am grieving.
Having heard that my beloved bike was gone, a friend penned the following poem to console me.
She wrote: I borrowed a couple of poems on line and revised them in order to make it appropriate for your current calamitous circumstances.
POEM OF CONSOLATION FOR THE LOSS OF GIANT
I will lend to you for awhile
A riding companion –
a foldable bike, God said,
For you to love her while she’s with you
and to mourn for her when she is gone.
Maybe for five or ten years,
or maybe for two or three.
But will you, till I call her back
take care of her for me?
She will bring her charms to gladden you
She will accompany you
To see beautiful places,
And should her stay be brief
you’ll always have her memories
as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise that she will stay,
since all from earth return.
Memories of your riding companion
Will take you back to happy sunlit days
These precious moments
Will be with you always.
These fond recollections
Will be treasured in your heart.
“When tomorrow starts without me
Don’t think we are far apart
For every time you think of me
I’m right here inside your heart.”
So long, farewell, Giant!
